• Challenge: A major automotive manufacturer required a method of streamlining the creation, standardization, and collaboration of their enterprise schedules across multiple product lines and global operational sites. Traditional collaboration methods such as email and document management servers required labor intensive processes and weeks of re-work to synchronize the smallest of scheduling changes. The manufacturer required a systematic approach to increase automation, reduce errors, and standardize their global product development process.
• Solution: EMSolutions implemented SNAP I2M to create a rule-based enterprise management system that integrated legacy spreadsheets and databases with a leading collaborative scheduling tool, providing near-real time synchronization between engineering source data and planning schedules.
• Benefit: Dispersed vehicle program data from around the globe has been integrated into a single web-based scheduling and support tool. The scheduling change management cycle was reduced from two weeks to one day. Currently the automotive manufacturer is using SNAP I2M to support more than 40,000 scheduling changes a day across more than 1000 unique vehicle products planned over the next 5 years.
